Dustin Prince was the victim in The Lost Turnabout. He was a police officer whose relationship to recurring character Maggey Byrde was unclear. Prosecutor Payne stated that they were lovers, though Maggey denied it.

Dustin and Maggey went to a park together on the former’s thirtieth birthday. Maggey gave him a yellow baseball mitt as a gift. There, Maggey found Richard Wellington’s missing cell phone. When Wellington called the phone, Maggey answered, and they agreed to meet at a specified location so Maggey could return the phone. While Maggey was in civilian clothes, Dustin was in uniform, and when Wellington saw him, he hid; unbeknownst to Dustin and Maggey, Wellington was a member of a con artist group and several of his fellow criminals’ numbers were stored on his phone.

When Dustin was alone, Wellington attacked him, shoving him over the edge of a retaining wall to his death. He attempted to frame Maggey for the killing, using Dustin’s right hand to write her name in the dirt, but was unaware that Dustin was left-handed. He also misspelled Maggey’s name, having only heard her say her name on the phone. These mistakes, along with others, ultimately led to Maggey being proven innocent of the crime and Wellington being exposed as the real killer.
