Profile
Jack Hammer was the victim in Turnabout Samurai. He was an actor in the employ of Global Studios, famous for roles in various samurai-themed movies, such as Samurai Summer. His career suffered, however, after he pushed co-star Manuel onto a spiked fence, killing him. Whether the death was deliberate or an accident is unclear. Producer Dee Vasquez covered up the incident, using her knowledge of it as leverage over Jack and forcing him into minor roles for low pay.
Jack was forced to play the role of the Evil Magistrate, the main antagonist in The Steel Samurai, a show primarily aimed toward children. Jack’s resentment of Vasquez’s blackmail of him pushed him over the edge. He attempted to murder Vasquez and frame fellow actor Will Powers for the crime, disguising himself as Powers during the attempt. Vasquez pushed Jack away in self-defense, accidentally impaling him on the same spiked fence Manuel died on.
Vasquez, with the help of director Sal Manella, attempted to frame Powers for Jack’s death, but Phoenix Wright successfully defended Powers in court and—with some assistance from Maya Fey, Mia Fey, and Miles Edgeworth—exposed Vasquez and Manella’s roles in Jack’s death and the attempt to frame Powers.
