Character's Name: Violet Sauveterre

Age: 34

Occupation: Prosecutor, freelance painter on her spare time

Brief Physical Description: I remember seeing a post a long time ago about how the aa prosecutors seem to have only gotten fancier with each game (Klavier being the one exception) so I wanted to create a prosecutor who's the opposite of that and is a complete slob. Violet has auburn hair which try as she might to keep back in a braid and ponytail always manages to look rather messy anyways. She's 5'9 and wears a green blazer over a casual sweater. She also wears crocs because they're comfortable and constantly forgets she's wearing her grey painter's smock around her waist and oftentimes shows up to court still wearing it.

Brief Personality Description: The way Violet acts depends entirely on who she's talking to. While her appearance looks rather goofy, she's usually pretty professional in court. She won't be openly antagonistic with the defense (ie, throwing things at them), but she can come off as rather aloof and hard to read (and will sometimes crack jokes at them). However, her demeanor changes entirely when she's in the presence of children. She becomes goofy and bubbly and extremely friendly. She tends to take on cases that involve children, as she knows how difficult it can be to witness and testify about a crime at such a young age. She tries to make the courtroom a non-threatening, friendly place when they are around, saying encouraging things during a testimony ("it's okay, there's nothing to be afraid of, you're not in trouble", etc) and will even go so far as to paint silly signs/let witnesses borrow her paints and make crafts themselves if it will help calm them down. Her desire to be comforting towards young witnesses who have already gone through enough is part of the reason for her sloppy appearance; she wants to come off as non-threatening as possible.

Connection to canon characters (if applicable): Since she's a prosecutor, she knows everyone at the high prosecutor's office. She gets along pretty well with most of them, though Klavier and Sebastian she gets along the best with. Edgeworth really wishes she'd take things more seriously and dress like a professional, but he appreciates how dedicated she is to making things right for young, traumatized witnesses to horrible crimes. He just sincerely hopes she'll ditch the crocs one of these days as he can't stand the sound of them squeaking when she walks past his office.

Brief Background: She came from a loving, supportive family (because how many of these do we have in aa? Come on now.). Her mother is a doctor and her father a therapist, both working with children. She's very close to her parents and it was their work that inspired her to become a prosecutor. While she always had an interest in law, she has a big heart so learning that there were children who suffered by witnessing or being involved in crimes broke her heart and she figured as a prosecutor, she would be able to do something to help while also still being a comforting presence in the courtroom for them. She's always had an interest in art, specifically painting (which was her minor in college) and never goes anywhere without her paints. She always liked how art can be used as a means to vent emotions out in a healthy, creative manner, and because of this she will bring her paints to the courtroom and oftentimes lend them to young witnesses when they need to calm down or relax. Chances are some of her crappy paintings from high school are still stashed somewhere in Themis Academy's art room.

Other Random Facts about Her:
-Her name is a pun in that Violet is a color and Sauveterre is French for "safe haven". These both play into her whole "artistic lady who acts like a mom towards people" theme.
-Assuming Phoenix was a visual arts major and not a theatre major (though I like both) before he switched over to law, there's a chance she might have met him in an art class in college. He will change the subject quickly if she brings up his college days but she admits that he was a pretty good artist.
-Her office at the prosecutor's building would be just as trashy-looking as she is, with beanbags instead of chairs and a mess all over the room. She'd have a big, autographed poster of Will Powers, because she's a fan of his. Despite this, she is neutral on the whole Steel Samurai vs Nickel Samurai vs Jammin' Ninja debate.
-As pictured above, she will often make art related jokes while in court. These are lost upon Athena and Apollo but Phoenix gets them.
-Sometimes she will do the Vera Misham thing where rather than speak she will just paint something. (Hence the painted "Objection" sign.)
-One of her surprised sprites would be her accidentally drinking the water she uses to clean her paintbrushes then spitting it out.
